School of Dance Hosts an International Academic Symposium, “The Korean Dance and Its Globalization of the Past, Present, and Future”

An international academic symposium about Korean dance and its globalization organized by the Department of Arts Management in the School of Dance took place on Saturday, 3 December 22 at the Seocho-dong campus. The Department of Arts Management in the School of Music annually holds an international academic symposium that aims to shed a light on major issues, exchange related information, and investigate the new possibilities of research in the field.

This time, emeritus professor Keith Howard (University of London), associate professor Michael Hurt (International College of the University of Suwon), research professor Song Sung-a (Pusan National University), and other scholars in dance from around the world were invited to the event to share the current trends and encourage the academic development of the field. They particularly discussed the efforts in the globalization of Korean dance in retrospect and also shared its outlook. It was the time for sharing diverse key issues and assessing the various possibilities for the research exchange.
