Film, Red Eyes (2021), Goes to the 63rd Thessaloniki
International Film Festival Immersive at the Invitation
A VR film, Red Eyes (2021), produced by the K-Arts AT Lab (Art & Technology Lab), was officially invited to the immersive competition of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF), Greece. Directed by Prof. Sngmoo Lee (Department of Filmmaking, School of Film, TV & Multimedia), the film stars Kim Kangwoo and Lee Elijah. Caitlin Burns, a festival programmer, evaluated the film as “the most ambitious VR SF action movie of all time using live action.”
The LG U Plus contributed to investment
and distribution, and Jin Pictures participated as the co-producer. Earlier, Red Eyes (2021) won the VeeR Audience Award
at the VIFF Immersed section of the 40th Vancouver International Film Festival.
Aside from it, it also received an invitation from the Imagine Film Festival
Amsterdam. Red Eyes (2021) is a 3D
360 cinema about special operations and concealed secrets of suicide commandos
set shortly. The film overcomes the limit of static virtual reality content and
experiments with employing daring camera walk and computer graphics, aiming to
deliver intensified urgency and tension to the audience.
