Photographer Song Seok-woo joins
the 8th
Singapore International Photography Festival Biennale Theme Exhibition
Photographer Song Seok-woo, alumnus of the School of Visual Arts won the 8th Singapore International Photography Festival Open Call Portfolio Artist (SIPF). In the 8th SIPF Open Call, 445 artists from 47 nations submitted their portfolios. The selected 19 works will be on display at the exhibition.
The winners participated in the theme exhibition, Future
Known as Unpredicted, from 15 September to 30 October. As the jury, Natasha Egan (executive curator of the MoCP
& Museum of the Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago),
Yasufumi Nakamori (senior curator, International Art (Photography) at Tate, the
U.K.), Mirjam Kooiman (curator, Foam), and Gwen Lee (artistic director of
Singapore International Photography Festival, co-founder of DECK Gallery)
joined.
The
opening reception was held on 23 September and the artist talked about the
artist’s work notes, episodes, K-culture, etc. on 24 September.
