Students of School of Dance and KNIGA Sweep Awards at the Korea International Ballet
Competition 2022
At the Korea
International Ballet Competition (KIBC) from Saturday, Wednesday, 27 to
Saturday, 30 July, 2 current students of the School of Dance and 6 current
students of the Korea National Institute of Gifted in Arts (KNIGA) accomplished
the splendid feat.
Lim Jaewun (22
years old), the current School of Dance student, earned the Bronze in the
senior male. Heo Wuhyeong (20 years old) attained the Jury’s Special Award. The
students of KNIGA in dance also made great achievements. So Haeun (17 years
old, Sunhwa Arts High School) earned the Gold in the junior B female. Kim
Minjin (16 years old, Sunhwa Arts High School) won the Gold in the junior A
female. In the pre-junior B male, Hong Taeyi (14 years old, Yewon School)
seized the Gold, and Hyun Jiho (13 years old, Yewon School) took the Silver. In
the pre-junior A male, Park Keunbyeolbit (12 years old, Solmoe Elementary
School) took the Gold while Kim Ra-im (12 years old, KNIGA) took the Gold in
the same category for the female.
Celebrating its
15th anniversary, the KIBC is one of the world’s top-class international ballet
competitions recognized by the CID-UNESCO and the Federation of International
Ballet Competition. This year, competitors from Korea, the US, Russia, Germany,
Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan, China, Belgium, and Estonia participated in the
contest.
