Dance Group TOB’s “Are You Guilty?” Gets On The Guardian’s List of Edinburgh Festival 2022: 50 Shows to See

A TOB's performance “Are You Guilty?” went on the list of Edinburgh Festival 2022: 50 Shows to See by The Guardians. The TOB is a student dance team consisting of undergraduate students of the School of Dance in K-Arts. They touch on the concerns or issues of society in contemporary dance.

“Are You Guilty?” inquires about the relation between merchandise and modern people. And it further investigates irrational behaviors of people, such as ostentation consumption or revenge consumption, in a metaphor. The Guardians highlighted the audience should pay attention to the messages conveyed through the impressive dance movements and picked out the piece as one of the 50 recommendations among 3,171 performances from more than 58 participating countries.

As for the cooperative project, the K-Arts and the Korean Cultural Center UK co-selected the teams to attend the Fringe for the Korean Showcase this year. The TOB’s “Are You Guilty?,” WeMu’s “Six Things,” and Variety Is-A’s “Korean Traditional Performance Concert” will be showcased in consequence.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, planned from 3 to 28 August this year, is the largest arts festival in the Guinness World Record. This year, in particular, the festival will be the largest in scale ever to celebrate its 75th anniversary under the circumstance of the COVID-19 endemic.
