I Am More (2022), A Documentary Film Starring Dancer Mo Jimin, Is Released

I Am More (2022), a documentary film by director Lee Ilha on the life of drag artist Mo Jimin, is now released. Mo Jimin is a dancer who studied ballet in the Department of Dance Performance in the School of Dance.

The word “more” in the title refers to an English word meaning “a greater degree of” and a species of furry fish both at a time. As the artist’s stage name, the word weighs more on Mo’s identity as a human being than a specific gender. It also implies the ambiguity of the artist’s position perceived by society.

Mo Jimin majored in ballet, dreaming of becoming a ballerina. Since then, for over twenty years, Mo has hosted drag shows. Mo’s show combines music, poetry, ballet, and contemporary dance in an exquisite manner. In 2019, it went to New York upon invitation to the “13 Fruitcakes: Musical Vignettes” that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. It also accompanied the performance of actor and playwright Johan Cameron Mitchell, the co-creator and the original star of the musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”
