The Sound of Magic (2022), an Original Netflix Series Starring Actress Choi Sung-eun of School of Drama, Is the Talk of the Town

Actress Choi Sung-eun, an alumna of the School of Drama, plays the role of Yoon Ah-yi in the original Netflix series, The Sound of Magic (2022). The Sound of Magic (2022) is a fantasy music drama about the story of a mysterious magician appearing before a girl who lost her dream and a boy who is demanded to dream. 

The series comes from the original work of the same title by cartoonist Ha Il-kwon. Within three days since its release on 6 May, the series ranked 8th in the global viewership on Netflix. In the 2nd week, it became included in the top 4 and stayed in the top 10 for two consecutive weeks.

Choi debuted with the film, Start-Up (2019) and received well with her acting in the JTBC’s drama series, Beyond the Evil (2021). Besides, Ten Months (2020), directed by Namkoong Sun (School of Film, TV & Multimedia), which stars Choi Sung-eun, received the recognition through many events. 

At the 41st Hawaii International Film Festival and the New York Asian Film Festivals, the juries recognized the film with Honorable Mentions. Moreover, the 16^th Korean Film Festival in Paris and the Jeonju International Film Festival officially invited the film.
