Four K-Arts Graduates Win Awards in the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards

At the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards on Friday, 6 May, actor Cho Hyun-chul (School of Film, TV & Multimedia, Department of Filmmaking) of the D. P. (2021) and actress Kim Shin-rok (School of Drama, Department of Acting) of the Hellbound (2021) won the male and female supporting actor and actress awards respectively in the television category.

In addition, director Kim Miran (School of Drama, Department of Directing) seized the Best Short Play Award with “This May Be a Failed Story” in the theater. Director Kim led the audience to the unknown world of the play by portraying the characters who use the two different languages – the Korean for one and the Korean sign language for the other – in this work.

Organized by Ilgan Sports since 1965, the Baeksang Arts Awards is one of the most prestigious arts awards in Korea. The judge for the latest event considered the media contents on-air via land-based TV stations, cable channels, or over-the-top media services from 12 April 21 to 31 March 22, plus the Korean feature films and plays released in the same period.
