of Animation of School of Film, TV & Multimedia Signs the MOU with the Dcarrick
Inc.
The Department of Animation of the School of Film, TV & Multimedia concluded the MOU with the Dcarrick Inc., the official partner corporate of the Engage, which is the only extended reality (XR) platform in Korea, to establish the joint R&D center for the metaverse technology.
Accordingly, both institutions will co-conduct research and projects through mutual personal and technological exchanges. The School of Film, TV & Multimedia rendered by the Art and Technology Lab in K-Arts has run various joint businesses in the metaverse fields since 2017. Using the metaverse platform, the K-Arts will also build and operate the Campus Asia program where Korea, Japan, and China participate and the Asia Animation Education Network (AAEN).
CEO Choi Inho of Dcarrick Inc. stated, “I expect the
great synergy between the K-Arts and us. The K-Arts possesses outstanding human
resources and creative environment while we have the know-how from developing
the AR and VR contents for many years since the foundation in 2015.” As per the
MOU, the Department of Animation will have its students involved in the
research of extending the metaverse platform, develop their competence, and
hopefully enable them to create killer content.
