K-Arts
X KAIST Welcome Video Camp for New Students Ends with the Great Success
Since concluding the MOU on seeking cooperation with
KAIST in January, the K-Arts pursued the first “K-Arts X KAIST Welcome Video
Camp for New Students” for eight days and successfully completed the event.
While the event sought for expanding opportunities for the exchange of students
between two schools and cooperation of arts and technology, the 34 new students
from both schools took part.
The participants went separated into five groups of
video teams and six groups of game teams. Then some of them took theory
lectures on filming, editing, sound effect, computer graphic, storytelling,
directing, and planning. Others took technology lectures on maneuvering film
cameras, editing equipment, sound or game tools. Based on the 49 hours of
curriculum, they came up with short films or simple games. In the process, the
students had an opportunity to co-create the outcomes with the individuals from
science and arts, applying their understanding of and creative ideas about
cutting-edge content. With the success of this event, two schools will not only
annually continue with Welcome Video Camp for New Students but go after similar
programs for their current students in the first half of this year at the
earliest possible.
