Data Composition (2021) by GRAYCODE X jiiiiin To Be Included in a Selection of Best Book Design from All Over the World and Korea

A publication, Data Composition (2021), by GRAYCODE and jiiiiin will be on special display at the Frankfurt Book Fair this year as the Seoul International Book Fair had included it in its selection of ten “Best Book Designs from All Over the World and Korea.” GRAYCODE and jiiiiin are the sound media artist duo, both of who are the School of Music alumni.

Data Composition (2021) is based on the eponymous exhibition about time composed of data hosted by the Sejong Center. The publication effectively reproduces the concepts of time and sound in printing. While faithfully recording the event, it adopted the new printing method to animatedly and lively deliver the black and white exhibition space. 

The sound-art exhibition, “Data Composition,” took place from January to March 2021 after it had won the contest of the public offering project by the Sejong Center. The exposition created the music from the audiovisual-big data with accumulated information on the recordings of museum visitors’ time and space details.
