Lee Jinhee of School of Drama Is Granted a Prize at the 2022 Person of Hanbok
Cultural Merit Award Ceremony
Professor Lee Jinhee, who teaches stage design in the School of Drama, was accorded the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Prize at the 2022 person of Hanbok Cultural Merit Award Ceremony. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Korea Craft & Design Foundation hosted the event. The event is to recognize and encourage the Hanbok artists who contributed to promoting the cultural significance of Hanbok, the traditional Korean attire.
Prof. Lee has been working as a costume director in many
productions across genres encompassing performing arts and films for the past
20 years. The award acknowledges her for giving life to characters and
strengthening Hanbok’s cultural standing by elevating the public awareness of
the dress in pursuit of her career. Her participation as a costume director in
international popular drama series, Love in the Moonligh (2016), and Sungkyunkwan
Scandal(2010), or in films, The Treacherous (2015) and The Great
Battle (2018) especially exercised significant influence on globally
upraising the Hanbok’s status on cultural aspect.
