Creative Musical, “Hashtag,” by K-Arts Musical Academy Gets the Arko Selection of This Year

The Arko selection of the year selected “Hashtag,” a creative musical by the 7th K-Arts Musical Academy (class of 2020), and the piece thereby will be on stage on 8 February at the Artone Theater in Daehak-ro. 

“Hashtag” depicts the process of going through growing pains as a character tries to find the true self while living a different life on social media. This work manages to realistically reflect and touch on a social issue by adopting the actual language expressions and cultures used by teenagers in real life.

The K-Arts Musical Academy, organized by the Arko Council Korea and hosted by the K-Arts, is a program that sets a goal to foster and systematically support creative musical professionals. Since its foundation, the program has produced various works that received the Arko selections, such as “Hope” (2018), “Anthemoessa” (2019), and “Sidereus” (2020).
