Yeonhwa,
a Korean Traditional Music Theatrical Group, Presents a Performance and
Workshop at the Invitation of the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary
From Tuesday, 16 to Wednesday, 17 November, the Yeonhwa, a Korean traditional music theatrical group composed of current and graduate students of the School of Korean Traditional Arts, presented a performance, “Moonlight Dance,” at the invitation of the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in Hungary.
The work interprets the Daeboreum customs, the year’s first full moon, with song, dance, and instrument. It aims to let people have fun together, put their worries of the past and future aside despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, 18
November, the members of Yeonhwa further opened a Samullori gave a workshop for
the locals in Hungary who are interested in the Korean traditional arts on the
Pungmul performance techniques and some Korean classical rhythms – Jangdan –
such as Jajinmori, Byuldalgeori, and Hwimori. Since 2020, the K-Arts has
promoted and funded the international distribution of the works created or
performed by our outstanding artists.
