Screen Culture Institute in School of Film, TV & Multimedia Holds the 2021 International
Academic Symposium

30 Sept. 21 (Thurs.) to 01 Oct. 21 (Fri.), the Trans:Asia Screen Culture
Institute affiliated with the School of Film, TV & Multimedia hosts an
academic symposium on “Addressing Archive: Women, Diaspora, and Filmmaking.”
Celebrating
the works and career path of Zainichi Korean female filmmaker Park Sunam, the
symposium reflects on her filmography with the director herself in the Cinetalk
session on 30 Sept. (Thurs.) On 01 Oct. (Fri.), the event will run in two
sessions with two panels. In the first session, panel 1 discusses women and
diaspora focused on archiving transnational memory and alternative
historiography. Panel 2 talks over the politics of cinematic, images, and
archives.
The
Trans:Asia Screen Culture Institute annually holds the international academic
symposium, providing the sphere of discourse internationally. This year, the event
