“The Scene of Life” by Kim Sujeong of School of Drama Wins Three Awards at 42^nd Seoul Theater Festival

At the 42nd Seoul Theater Festival from 30 April 21 to 30 May 21, a play, “The Scene of Life,” produced by New Universe Theater Company and written by Kim Sujeong, an alumna of School of Drama, won three awards. The award ceremony took place on 30 May during the closing ceremony of the Seoul Theater Festival at Ieum Art Hall in Ieum Center on Daehak-ro.

“The Scene of Life” is an interactive theater that talks about founding special schools for children with special needs. The jury praised the work as “an excellent satire that reveals the bare face of human selfishness with difficulty in hearing other people’s voices.” Having received awards, Kim stated, “Thirty members co-produced this work. With COVID-19, we are going through difficult times bringing our work to the stage. Despite that, we will keep on striving for good results.”
