K-Arts Borderless Online Festival 2020
The K-Arts Borderless Online Festival (BOF) takes place from
Monday, December 7th through Thursday, December 31st, 2020.
The BOF consists of programs from all-across the genres – Korean
traditional music, classical music, ballet, contemporary dance, folk play,
musical, and theater. The BOF is not a mere online showcase of various music
performances. It further sheds light on hope for young artists who prepare for
proceeding to the global stage in the post-Corona period. To meet these needs,
the BOF committee plans on taking festival entries abroad by partnering with
the Korean Cultural Centers in Poland, Hungary, Hong Kong, etc. Furthermore, in
the case of receiving invitations from local festivals or organizations, the
committee will support the young artists to help them play the leading roles of
spreading K-culture by providing matching funds.
A total of 49 outstanding works produced in the K-Arts enter the
BOF. The entries include “Two Hands,” a participant of the world-class media
art festival Ars Electronica, Piano Orchestra Concert led by pianist Kim Daejin
and played by fifty performers with twenty-five pianos, Nine Different Colors
of Dance, a performance composed of a variety of traditional dances, etc.
The official BOF web pages are available both in Korean and
English and open to anyone. For more information on BOF, such as information on
