Alumna Violinist Jang Yoojin's New Faculty Position at Eastman School of Music

 

Jang Yoojin, Graduate of the School of Music, Is Appointed to the Faculty of Eastman School of Music as a Violin Professor



 

Jang Yoojin, who studied under violinist Kim Nam-Yun at the School of Music, an honorary professor of Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts) and a president of Korea National Institute of Gifted in Arts (KNIGA), is appointed to the Faculty of Eastman School of Music (ECMS) at the University of Rochester, New York.

 

Jang is the first Korean violin professor at the school, and her term begins in the upcoming September. ECMS is one of the best music schools that offer good programs integrating both theory and practice. Jang Yoojin completed her bachelor’s program at K-Arts and received a doctorate of musical arts at New England Conservatory.

 

She is also the First Prize winner of the 2016 Sendai International Music Competition in Japan. The critics praise her playing for delicate expression of instrumental sound and exceptional skill to deliver the music.
