Wins at the Global Applied Game Jam 2019

 

Four Teams from the Korea National University of Arts Win in the Global Applied Game Jam 2019 at POSTECH



 

The current students of the Korea National University of Arts entered the Global Applied Game Jam 2019 organized by POSTECH from August 7th to 9th, and four teams won the grand prize, excellence award, and best awards. 

 

The Team “Food Fighters” where Seo Hye-rim, a multimedia major, belongs, won the grand prize, and the team “Table of Tomorrow” where Joo Da-eun, a fine-arts major, belongs won excellence award. Also, broadcasting major Kim Yoon-jeong’s “Wicked Peppers” and multimedia major Kim Hwa-eun’s “Gyeranheyo” each won best award. 

 

The Global Applied Game Jam is a boot-camp competition in which within 48 hours, the participants should brainstorm and design new games relevant to the current social and technological issues as a team. A participant is expected to form a group of five with other participants from different backgrounds and start designing a game, which can be run in real life, under the professional’s supervision at the site. 

 

The topic of this year’s game jam was “The Food for the Coming Future.” This year’s participants included students from the Netherlands, HKU, Jilin Animation Institute, POSTECH, Gachon University, Kyungpook National University, Kimpo University, Stony Brook University Korea, Korea National University of Arts, and Hoseo University.
