Ahn Eun-jin, School of Drama, Stars in the Play, “Silent Sky”
Actress Ahn Eun-jin, an alumna of the School of Drama,
stars as Henrietta Leavitt, the female protagonist, in “Silent Sky” the play
staged at Myeongdong Theater, National Theater Company of Korea, from 29
November to 28 December.
Written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Kim
Min-jeong, the play is inspired by the real-life story of female astronaut Henrietta
Leavitt who worked at the Harvard Observatory in the 19th century
when there was no women’s suffrage.
In the time when women were only permitted to perform the
roles of human computers, doing repetitive work, in contrast to the men, Leavitt
lived the life of a strong and bright woman who walked the determined path of life
with her passion and pioneering spirit for science.
Ahn Eun-jin became mainstream after acting in dramas, “Lover” (2023), “Wise Doctor Life” (2020-21), and “Bad Mom” (2023). With “Silent Sky”, she returned to theatrical work after 7 years. As a skilled actress, Ahn will bring Henrietta Leavitt, who was full of passion for life and work, to shine on stage.
