Talk: Composer’s Room & Actor’s Studio”
At 5 p.m. on Wednesdays from 20 to 27 November at M507
in the Headquarter Building on the Seokgwan campus, the K-Arts hosted an autumn
special lecture series, “Curtain Call Talk: Composer’s Room & Actor’s
Studio”.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the
School of Drama, composer Min Chanhong and actor Kang Pilsuk who are active in
the musical scene joined as hosts to talk about creators’ agonies and efforts
in the industry.
Composer Min Chanhong, who graduated from the Department
of Composition, School of Music, worked in various fields, including theater,
film, and musicals. A creative musical, “Bbalae (Laundry)”, which has long been
loved by the Korean audience, is Min’s representative work. In this lecture, he
shared the experiences he had as a creative musical composer in the musical song
production and collaboration at the production sites.
Actor Kang Pilsuk, an alumnus of the Department of
Acting, School of Drama, is a veteran actor who played various roles in many theatrical
works, such as the play “Hamlet” and the musicals “Sweeney Todd” and “Something
Rotten!” Kang shared his acting philosophy and the industry trends with the audience.
In this autumn special lecture series, Min and Kang, as alumni of K-Arts and senior artists, shared their heartfelt advice and valuable knowledge that would be of help to the students who attended.
