Performance
& Exhibition Center X K-Arts Foundation Host the Social Contribution
Project, “Open Campus K-Arts”
Celebrating the 30th anniversary, the
K-Arts sponsored by Performance & Exhibition Center presented the event, “Open
Campus K-Arts,” which promotes a connection between the school and the local community.
Following the 1st event, “Open Campus
K-Arts: Play Like a Clown,” in the first half of 2024, the 2nd event,
“Open Campus K-Arts: De-familiarization” took place this time.
“Open Campus K-Arts: De-familiarization” was held at 3
p.m. on Monday, 4 November at the Art Theater S on the Seokgwan campus for the
residents of Seokgwan-dong, the region closest to the K-Arts campus. The event
unfolded oriented around the topics of “companionship with and communication
between generations” and “solidarity with the locals near the campus.”
Through the project, the K-Arts is after community-based
interaction on campus. At the same time, the school seeks the project’s
sustainability by offering course credits (i.e. “volunteer art service,” “planning
& production of performing arts) to students who participate in the social
contribution projects.
President Kim Daejin addressed, “It’s already been 30 years since K-Arts set in Seokgwan. I wish these communications bring us closer, that our neighborhood feels pride and greater interest in arts. And I also wish our artists, who spent a significant amount of their youth in this town to treasure their time here for a long time.”
