Sopranos
Hong Haeran & Seo Sunyoung Release Project Album, “Insieme”
The fifth collaboration
project album, “Insieme”, by K-Arts and Universal Music was released.
The word, “insieme,”
means “together” in the Italian language. In the making of the album, two
sopranos and professors Hong Haeran and Seo Sunyoung of K-Arts took part.
Prof. Hong sound
recorded “A Woman’s Love and Life” by R. Schumann, “I’m a Stranger Here Myself”
(from “One Touch of Venus”) by Kurt Weill, and “It Never Was You” (from the
musical, “Knickerbocker Holiday”). In addition, she co-performed with pianist
Jeong Tae-yang for “3 Chansons: No. 3, Youkali.”
Prof. Seo Sunyoung
and her co-performer pianist Lee Youngmi sound recorded R. Strauss’s “Four Last
Songs” and O. Respighi’s “The Sunset.”
The K-Arts and
Universal Music concluded the MOU in 2019 to support exceptional Korean
musicians and ever since collaborated on making project albums.
The project outcomes include a duet album,
“Schubert: Works for Piano Four-Hands” (2020) by pianists Kim Daejin and Chloe
Jiyeong Mun, “Mozart: Clarinet Quintet K. 581 / Brahms: Clarinet Quintet
Op.115” (2021) by Jerry Jae-il Chae (clarinet), Lee Kangho (cello), Lee Hanna
(viola), Kim Young-uk (violin), and Youn Eunsol (violin), “Beethoven, Busoni,
Bach/ Busoni – Piano Works” (2022) by pianist Park Jaehong, and “Grieg, Bach,
Tchaikovsky” (2022) by KNUA String Ensemble.
