Visual
Artist Han Jin Makes It to Top 10 Semifinal in 2024 KIAF Seoul Highlights
Visual Artist Han Jin, affiliated with Gallery SP, became
one of the top 10 artists in the KIAF Highlights semifinal at the Korea
International Art Fair (KIAF) Seoul 2024 arranged by the Galleries Association
of Korea. Han Jin attained her BA and MA from the Department of Fine Arts in
K-Arts.
Han Jin works on the invisible or fading senses. She takes
a long time to observe and research the body's senses in many forms, light,
music, hearing, and so forth, before visually concretizing them into textures.
Han had 7 solo exhibitions and many group exhibitions. The National Museum of
Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Art Bank and Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation
(GGCF) hold her works.
Since the previous year, the Galleries
Association of Korea has conducted the KIAF Highlights to discover and sponsor
artists who show the dynamics of contemporary visual arts among the galleries
participating in the fair. This year, it selected 10 artists who meet the
quality standards in the categories of completion, creativity, contemporary, and
identity on the theme of “fresh discovery and encounter.” The 3 final winners,
among whom Han was not in, were announced after screening at the site.
