Virtuoso Concert by Faculty of School of Korean Traditional Arts Enthralled Sejong City
The School of Korean
Traditional Arts of K-Arts hosted the “2024 K-Arts Korean Traditional Music
Master Concert” at the Sejong Arts Center in Sejong City on 20 September.
The School of
Korean Traditional Arts was established in 1998 to academically study and
enhance the performing practice of traditional arts oriented around
instruments, singing, and dance to cultivate the experts adapting to new
times. The School of Korean Traditional Arts provides a comprehensive
curriculum designed to create the performing arts to suit the Korean traditional
art form. It thereby gives classes embracing academic theories and practices of
related departments – Department of Korean Traditional Music, Department of
Korean Traditional Music Composition, Department of Korean Traditional Dramatic
Performing Arts, Department of Korean Traditional Dance, and Department of
Korean Traditional Arts Theory. The professors of the school, who are also
masters of our time, presented the audience with the different genres of
performances made of gayageum, geomungo, haegeum, piri, percussion, pansori, palace
and ethnic dances, samul-nori, and mask dance.
The school dean Sung
Kisook commented, “This event is the school’s iconic brand concert that
delivers the essence of traditional arts. I believe Korea’s representative
masters’ stage must have presented an unforgettable experience to their
audience.”
