Director and actress Kim Kyung-jung, who completed Filmmaking MFA programme at the School of Film, TV & Multimedia, took the Bronze in the narrative section with an independent short film, “How Do I Love Thee” (2023) at the 57th Houston Independent International Film Festival (Worldfest Houston). The Worldfest Houston is one of the independent film festivals with a long history where many of the early films by great auteurs were screened. This year, over 4,200 films from more than 70 countries entered the event.

Kim’s “How Do I Love Thee” (2023) was inspired by the original play, “Almost Maine” (premiered in Portland, US, 2004), by John Cariani. Kim both directed and acted in the film, in which she played the character of “Hannah,” a dancer with hearing impairment.
