School of Korean Traditional Arts Mesmerizes at Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 Commemorative Concert


K-Arts School of Korean Traditional Arts presented a commemorative concert on January 29 at Gangneung Arts Center, during the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024. The ticket for the concert had rapidly sold out, attesting to its popularity.

The Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 aimed to create an atmosphere of harmony and festivity, uniting youths from across the globe with shared dreams and passion, offering them unique and special experiences. The event featured various amusements for the young participants to enjoy, showcasing the diverse facets of K-pop and Korea-culture.

Taking place at the Saimdang Hall in Gangneung Arts Center, a series of concerts presented by national art organizations curated special art-cultural performances. The concert lineup included mesmerizing performances by K-Arts School of Korean Traditional Arts, Dream Orchestra Gangneung, National Dance Company of Korea, Korean National Symphony Orchestra, National Chorus of Korea, Korea National Opera & Gangneung City Performing Arts Group, and Korean National Ballet.

The School of Korean Traditional Arts stole the spotlight with enchanting presentations of Korean traditional dances and dramatic performing arts. From the mystical Samdo Musok (Korean Shaman Dance of Three Provinces) to the graceful Taepyeongmu (Dance of Great Peace), lively Bongsan Mask Dance, expressive Hallyangmu (Prodigal Man Dance), elegant Fan Dance, and rhythmic Samulpangut (Korean Traditional Percussion Quartet), each performance showcased authentic Korean traditional sentiments, delivering the inherent beauty of Korean traditional arts.
