K-Arts is set to launch a pre-admission course named 'Zero-Education' targeting prospective students admitted for the 2024 spring intake.

Organized by the Faculty of Arts and Liberal Studies, 'Zero-Education' is designed to furnish incoming freshmen with diverse opportunities to grasp fundamental concepts across six distinct schools: Music, Drama, Film, TV & Multimedia, Dance, Visual Arts, and Korean Traditional Arts. The initiative aims to cultivate a fresh perspective and a sense of community through collaborative interactions with peers from various schools and majors.

'Zero-Education' is scheduled to unfold at the Headquarters Campus over a two-day from February 14th to 15th, featuring a comprehensive curriculum comprising six classes. These classes, directly instructed by faculty members from the six participating schools, are designed to be experiential and discussion-based, encouraging prospective freshmen to actively immerse themselves in the exploration of various art disciplines.

Professor Kim Soojin (Department of Musicology, School of Music) will spearhead a class titled "Music and Humanities," delving into the cultural value of music and exploring individual major fields. Professor Yoon Sohee (Department of Acting, School of Drama) will facilitate a class titled "Improvisation and Body," concentrating on enhencing body sensitivity through improvisational movement training. Professor Ha Seungwoo (Department of Cinema Studies, School of Film, TV, and Multimedia) will lead "Exploring the Second Renaissance of Korean Cinema," seeking the potential for a renewed era in Korean film industry.

Professor Ahn Duckki (Department of Dance Performance, School of Dance) will guide a class named "Korean Dance Within Me," awakening latent charm and excitement through the rhythmic and stylish movements of Korean dance. Professor Ji Kangil (Department of Architecture, School of Visual Arts) will conduct "Art, Architecture and Beauty," a class that explores intersections between art, architecture, and science through an investigation of aesthetics. Professor Park Insoo (Department of Korean Traditional Dramatic Performing Arts, School of Korean Traditional Arts) will facilitate a class titled "Workshop for a Dance Path," reviving a sense of community through the collective experience of learning the basic movements of traditional dance movements.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to earn for one credit in the general elective for the first semester of 2024.
