6 Winners of the 2023 K-Arts Audition Shine in a Spectacular Joint Show

Exceptional Students from Music, Dance, and Traditional Arts Schools Shine in a Spectacular Display of Creativity

On 22 December, the K-Arts hosted a joint performance made up of 6 winner teams of K-Arts Audition 2023. The K-Arts Audition is a contest for students enrolled in performing arts majors in the School of Music, School of Dance, or School of Korean Traditional Arts. Each school ran 2 rounds of competitive auditions through which the final winners of the year were selected. This year, the event marks 4 years. The outstanding students who won the audition are provided with opportunities to develop their competence through various means such as co-performance with internationally renowned orchestras abroad, and financial support for entering concours or music recording.

Through the joint performance, the K-Arts introduces the current students with exceptional abilities in across genres, namely classical music, traditional performances, contemporary dance, and media performance. This year’s audition discovered many experimental and challenging works through the field-based selection process.

The occasion began with “6:10 Inferno” by Team Paradise (the winner from the School of Korean Traditional Arts) which continued with “sPlaCe” by Kim Dakyeong and Ahn Dayeong (the winner from the School of Dance), “Benefit” by String (the winner from the School of Dance), “Body Building” by Park Suyeong (the winner from the School of Dance), Philippe Gaubert’s “Fantaisie for Flute and Piano” and Paolo Tabllione’s “La Traviata Fantasy” by Kim Yeseong (the winner from the School of Music).

President Kim Daejin of K-Arts expressed anticipation for the event commenting, “Like the meaning of ‘The One and Only’ itself, the artists from 3 schools selected through this year’s audition will deliver the original performances in colors of their own.”
