Ballerina Park Sae Eun Receives Prestigious French Honor as Chevalier 

 

Ballerina Park Sae Eun, a current étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet, was granted a medal and a certificate of “Chevalier” by Minister of Culture of France Rima Abdul Malak. Park became the étoile, a principal dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet, in 2021 as the first Asian dancer. Last year, she made the stage as “Clara” of “The Nutcracker” at the Paris Opera Bastille for the 2023/24 programming season.

  

Park was the winner of the 2007 Prix de Lausanne, one of the world’s best ballet competitions. In 2018, she obtained the Best Female Dancer Prize at the Benois De La Danse, known as the Oscars for the dancers.

 

The Order of Arts and Letters was established in 1957 by the French Ministry of Culture to appreciate the artists and officials who made contributions to the advancement of arts in France. The Order has three grades: Commandeur (Commander), Officier (Officer), and Chevalier (Knight).
