Alumnus Kim San Conducts Stae Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan in Tashkent

 

Kim San, a School of Music Alumnus, Conducts the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan


Kim San, an alumnus of the Department of Conducting, School of Music, performed at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) upon invitation by the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. At the commemorative concert marking the 30th anniversary of the Korean-Uzbekistan partnership last year, Kim San made a deep impression after conducting Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5. Receiving special invitations for two consecutive years, Kim led the orchestra and performed Brahms Symphony No. 4 and “The Free Shooter” in Weber’s opera on 8 November. The concert was a part of the 2023-2024 season’s project concert for celebrating the 87th anniversary of the foundation of the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. 

  

Kim San studied with Professor Kim Hongsu of the School of Music in K-Arts. After graduation, Kim obtained a diploma in orchestral conducting from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music in Italy. He studied with conductor Sebastian Lang-Lessing after he had been admitted to the master class in the Korea National Opera.
