Alumnus Lee Hae Received the Second Prize at the 2023 Sergey Kussewitzky Conducting Competition

 

 

 Alumnus Lee Hae, who graduated the Department of Conducting at the School of Music, was named as the Second Prize winner of the 2023 Sergey Kussewitzky Conducting Competition. 

 

The competition took place each year in the city of Grosseto in Tuscany, Italy. Candidates for the competition were chosen from an online pre-selection round, with the live Semifinal and Final being held in Grosseto’s Teatro delgli Industri and featuring the Citta di Grosseto Orchestra. This year, the jury comprised Vittorio Parisi (President), Massiomo Belli, Giancarlo de Lorenzo, Christian Fitzner, Francisco Javier Gutierrez, Massimo Merone, and Szymon Makowski.

 

Lee Hae studied with Prof. Chung Chiyong at the School of Music and holds Master of Music from the Peabody Insitute of the Johns Hopkins University. He was selected for the Korea National Opera Masterclass and as a Fellow and had conducted world-premiers at the Seoul Contemporary Music Festival and Korean Composers Association Festival.
