K-Arts and Dongdaemun Culture Foundation Run the Art Education Program for Children

Mayor Lee Pil-hyeong of Dongdaemun district, Seoul, announced that the Dongdaemun Culture Foundation would run an integration arts education program for elementary school students in the five local art-cultural spaces from 20 October to 10 December.

The Dream Drawing School by the Culture and Arts Education Center affiliated with the K-Arts co-supervises the program. The instructors from K-Arts will offer free classes for the participating elementary school students. The students will be able to cultivate their interests in various fields of art, including theater, visual art, and traditional art.

From 20 October, the Sunnongdan Cultural History Center gives theatre classes for the students. The “Play Learn Theatre” class for the lower-grade students (1st-3rd grade levels) guides the students to experience diverse movements and sensations used in theatre through plays. The “Dream with Theater” class for upper-grade students (4th-6th grade levels) helps students improve their theatrical expressions through reading and writing theatrical works.

From 29 October, the Imun Children’s Public Library provides a program, “Touch with Your Eyes and Watch with Your Hands” for students in 1st to 4th grade levels. It is a visual art program that leads students to have artistic activities with the surrounding images, sounds, and moves as materials for arts. This program by the K-Arts’ Dream Dreaming School and Dongdaemun Culture Foundation will let children raise their interests in arts through many free lectures on different fields of arts offered by the instructors from K-Arts.
