Actress Han Yeri,
School of Korean Traditional Arts, Is Announced as a Jury of the Actor of the
Year Award at the 28th BIFF
Actress Han Yeri, an alumna of the Department
of Korean Traditional Dance, who made her name known to the global audience through
Minari (2020), became the jury of the 28th Busan
International Film Festival (BIFF). Han has been a member of the Academy of Motion
Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) which presides over the Oscars.
The 28th BIFF took place from 4 to 13 October in and around the Busan Cinema Center. Together with the Tokyo International Film Festival and Hong Kong International Film Festival, the BIFF is one of the largest film festivals in Asia. The Actor of the Year Award is granted to the best new actor and actress, one each, who showed the most impressive acting in the independent Korean feature films nominated for the New Currents and Busan Vision.
This year’s winner is bestowed an award
money of 5 million KRW with the prize. At the closing ceremony of the festival,
Han Yeri and actor Jung Woo successfully co-hosted the event to the grand finale.
