Hong Seonghyeon, Department of Dance Performance, Wins the 2023 Korea International Contemporary Dance

The Korea Dance Association (KORDA) announced Hong Seonghyeon a winner of the First Prize and Gold Prize in the senior male category in the 2023 Korea International Contemporary Dance Competition (KICDC) which took place on 11 October 2023.

Hong performed “Winter Born” in the semifinal and “Hold on Tight” in the final. With the First Prize, he also earned an opportunity to perform military service as an art and sports personnel upon the recommendation of Minister of the Culture, Sports, and Tourism. The First Prize of the KICDC is granted to only one among the Gold Prize winners.

The KORDA and the Cheonan Foundation for Arts and Culture co-hosted the KICDC, which aims to discover new talents. The event took place at the grand hall in the Cheonan Arts Center from 2 to 6 October. A total of 205 participants moved up to the final round. The KICDC celebrates its 14^th anniversary this year.
