Kim Been, who has been active on the theater, film, and TV series fronts, after graduating from the Department of Acting, became the winner of a renowned international film festival with his film, Christmas Rangmyeon (2023). In the previous Jeonju International Film Festival, the work earned recognition for its excellence in directing and sensation, having its tickets sold out for all screen-time slots.

Director Kim, who has successfully gained public attention through acting, directing, and screenwriting, entered his Christmas Rangmyeon (2023) in the New York Cinematography Awards last month. After fierce competition, the work became the winner of the Best Short Film Award, once again demonstrating its quality and popularity.

Also nominated for the competition sections at many other international film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival and Washington DC International Film Festival, the film earned praise for captivating the audience by portraying a female main character with a jinx on Christmas days in a witty yet persuasive way. Lately, Kim founded a film production corporation, Vincent Film, and is now planning on his next romance feature film.
