K-Arts Appoints 2 New Professors, Kim Yeonjae and Kang Yuna

 

Prof. Kim Yeon-jae and Prof. Kang Yun-a Are Newly Appointed to the Posts in the Department of Art Theory and Department of Acting

 

Through the 1st recruitment of the full-time professors of 2023, the K-Arts appointed Professor Kang Yun-a (Major in Theatre for the Young) in the School of Drama and Professor Kim Yeon-jae (Major in Arts Management) in the School of Visual Arts. Their term began on 1 August 2023.

 

Prof. Kang Yun-a earned a Ph.D. in the studies of theater for children and young people from Arizona State University (US). Prof. Kang published “Deconstructing the Ideology of Nature and the Child in Korean Child Narratives” for her doctoral degree dissertation. As an active researcher in her field of study, she wrote In Search of You (Literature, History & Philosophy Publishing Co., 2023) and A Conversation with Artists of Children’s Theater from Europe (Literature, History & Philosophy Publishing Co., 2023).

 

Prof. Kim Yeon-jae acquired her Ph.D. in museum studies at the University of Leicester (UK). Through “Reconstruction of the National Museum,” she shared her insights on theoretical research on the spaces and sites where the artworks contact with the audience she had studied.

 

With abundant teaching experiences, both instructors are anticipated to contribute to enriching the students’ expertise in both theories and practices through their classes in K-Arts.
