4 Current Students Sweep Awards in the 16th Korea International Ballet Competition

 

The four current School of Dance students presented a vision of the bright future of the next-generation dancers by achieving excellence at the 2023 Korea International Ballet Competition (KIBC). Lee Yoon-seo (19 years old, 2nd year, BA) attained the Gold Prize in the Senior Female, Lee Sojeong (22 years old, 4th year, BA) and Lee Suyeon (20 years old, 2nd year, BA) both grabbed the Silver Prizes. In the Senior Male, Lim Hyeong-jin (20 years old, 2nd year, BA) took the Bronze.

 

A jury of the contest had 12 members while the competitors were from South Korea, the United States, Russia, China, Hungary, Belgium, and Kazakhstan. Referring to the awardees of K-Arts, the juror committee commented, “The winners showed their competence in artistry and high quality of techniques, especially in the accuracy of the choreography.”

 

Initiated in 2007, celebrating its 16th anniversary, the KIBC is a world-class international ballet competition certified by the CID-UNESCO and Federation of International Ballet Competition.
