Artists of K-Arts Mark the ‘Korean Season’ for 140 Years of Korea-UK Partnership

The artists of K-Arts rose to the occasion of the “2023 Korean Season” in the UK held to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the ROK-UK alliance. Pianist Kim Sunwook, an alumnus of the School of Music, already co-performed with the London Symphony Orchestra last February. In the meantime, choreographer Kim Seoljin and his contemporary dance team, Mover, put on stage in nine cities in Britain.

 

Moreover, photographer Kim Hee-cheon, a graduate of the Department of Architecture, School of Visual Arts, who is considered one of the outstanding young artists of our time, plans on giving a video art exhibition on the “boundary between reality and the virtual world.” At the Edinburgh International Festival in August, a traditional Korean musical, “The Trojan Women,” written by Prof. Bae Sam-sik of the School of Drama, and the other, “Hello, the Hell: Othello,” whose music was composed and directed by Prof. Choi Jong-yoon of the School of Drama, will be presented. 

 

Besides, classical music concerts by Novus Quartet, cellist Han Jaemin, pianist Son Yeol-eum, and violinist Clara Jumi-Kang, the graduates of the School of Music who are now active on the global stage, are consecutively scheduled until December.
