Prof. Ji Kangil Attends to the Special Exhibition for Korean-Swiss Diplomatic Relations

Professor Ji Kangil, head of the Department of Architecture (School of Visual Arts), takes part in the special exhibition celebrating the 60th anniversary of Korean-Swiss diplomatic relations. From 13 June to 13 August at the Seoul Hall of Urbanism & Architecture, the exhibition will be run in collaboration between the city of Seoul and the Embassy of Switzerland in the Republic of Korea. After the exhibition in Seoul in 2023 is closed, the event will be continued at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in early 2024.

The exhibition is composed of two sub-exhibitions, one on the grandioso natural environment enclosing the humans, “The Depths of the Mountains,” and the other on the indoor environment within the architectural structure, “ARC-HEST.” “The Depths of the Mountains” was initiated from a project that won the prize contest held by the Embassy of Switzerland in the Republic of Korea in 2022 on the theme of the development of the relations between South Korea and Switzerland. The exhibition’s goal is to close gaps in the relations between South Korea and Switzerland and deliver the common concerns shared by both countries by pondering the meaning of different spaces, indoor and outdoor of the architectural structure.
