Alumni of the School of Drama Come to the Limelight in Netflix’s Most Popular TV (Non-English) Series, The Glory (2022)

Actors and actresses of the School of Drama caught global attention after acting in Netflix’s Most Popular TV (Non-English) series, The Glory (2022), which made it to the top 10 in 39 regions around the world. Lim Jiyeon (starring as Park Yeon-jin), Kim Gunwoo (as Son Myeong-oh), Song Byeong-geun (as young Jeon Jae-joon), Seo Woo-hyuk (as young Son Myeong-oh), Song Ji-woo (as young Choi Hye-jeong), and Yoon Jinseong (as a shaman at the Yeonhwadang) are all alumni of the School of Drama in K-Arts.

Lim Jiyeon perfectly portrayed the character of a school bully, making Park Yeon-jin a “national villain.” With the role, she hit the high notes of her acting career. Kim Gunwoo who played another antagonist character, Son Myeong-oh, later turned out that he had been admitted to the School of Drama as the top of his class. Song Byeong-geun and Seo Woo-hyuk successfully made their debuts by playing young Jeon Jae-joon and young Son Myeong-oh, respectively. Song Ji-woo was also well-received for characterizing young Choi Hye-jeong, who strives to climb up the social ladder despite all sorts of insults and obstacles among a group of perpetrators, on many sides.

In addition, Yoon Jinseong displayed marvelous acting with a shaman character. She appeared as the mother of Dong Geu-ra-mi in another hit TV series aired the previous year, Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022).
