Three
Professors of the School of Dance Agree on Donating Their Works for the KIADA
On 17 April, dean Kim Samjin of the
School of Dance, and professors Jung Jae-hyuk and Jun Sungjae approved of donating
the works they had choreographed for the development and growth of the Korea
International Accessible Dance Festival (KIADA) at the agreement ceremony. The
KIADA is the only international comprehensive dance festival in the world for
the disabled. Dean Kim Samjin of the School of Dance serves as the art director
of the organization.
Dean Kim Samjin emphasized, “Since the
year of foundation till now when we celebrate the 8th anniversary,
the KIADA has contributed to globally activating the ecology of dance for the
disabled. Putting our donated work on stage, we look for turning our talents
into public property and give it back to society. Many dancers with disabilities
who yearn for the stage will see a light by accessing various works while the donor
choreographers will be happy to see them.”
It is unprecedented to see one donating choreographed
works in the custom of arts and culture. The agreement ceremony took place
ahead of the 43rd Disabled Day. It consented to step forward to a
society that embraced the disabled and non-disabled artists. At the same time, it
was anticipated to initiate a new donation culture in the world of arts and
culture.
