Park Shinjung, Student in Composition, Received the Talent Award of Korea, the most prestigious prize by the Korea Student Aid Foundation
Park Shinjung, currently enrolled in the Department of Composition of the School of Music, has named for the Talent Award of Korea in recognition of her outstanding achievement and contribution in entrepreneurship.
Park produced a website “lemonsound (www.lemonsoundkr.com)” to engage
fellow students from different majors in diverse forms of arts projects and
developed it as a business model which has created 126 freelancing work
opportunities in 80 and more artworks, achieving 8 times of sales growth.
She launched this business with an assist of the K-Arts’ self-employment support program “Par Example Project 2022” for young artists. Her idea that “An artist should brand and market by self” has been realized through the business. Park said “Musicians often aren’t able to demand due rights such as credit or copyright. I would like change the market. I will keep challenging and working towards my vision, aiming at world market beyond the domestic market.”
The Talent Award of Korea is an award bestowed by the Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Education of Korea from 2014. It recognizes
those individuals who are likely to become Korea's future leaders and have
performed exemplary talents or outstanding meritorious service.
