Films Made at School of Film, TV & Multimedia Are Invited to Jeonju
International Film Festival
Five films by K-Arts
current students were invited to Korean Competition, Korean Competition for
Shorts, and Korean Cinema at the 21st Jeonju International Film
Festival (JIFF).
First of all, director
Kim Nakyung’s Dust-Man (2020) entered the Korean Competition section. Using
dust-art drawing, Dust-Man (2020) portrays the story of a young man who initially
thought of taking his own life ended up finding hope for a new life. On top of
that, director Namkoong Sun’s Ten Months (2020) was selected for Korean
Cinema. In this film, Namkoong seriously yet amusingly follows a woman from
when she finds out her unplanned pregnancy till she gives birth. Besides, director
Chang Hyungyun’s Quitting My Destiny (2020), director Kim Yoonsun’s Trapped
(2020), and director Zo Hyeyoung’s Dear.Picaresque (2020) were included
in the lineup of the Korean Competition.
Supposedly, the 21st
JIFF was to take place on April 30th, yet in the aftermath of the
spread of COVID-19, it has come to open an online screening. Also, the
screening will be available for longer than usual. The online screening is accessible
via the OTT platform, wavve, from May 28th through June 6th.
After then, the showing will be continued on a few screens including ones at
Jeonju Cine Complex beginning from June 9th through September 20th.
