The Special Lecture Offered by the Faculty of
Arts and Liberal Studies: Nietzsche, Lyotard, Rancière
The Faculty of Arts and Liberal Studies at the Korea National University of Arts offers a special lecture series for the fall semester from October 10th to 17th at L506 in the Theatre Studies wing on the Seokgwan-dong campus.
It runs on Thursdays from 6 pm to 9
pm. This lecture series, Nietzsche, Lyotard, Rancière,
focuses on the ideas of three thinkers from the pragmatic perspective and
explores how they can be related to the arts of today. Overall, these sessions
aim to fathom significance of the arts of today, form of representation, ethics
and politics related to it, and various perspectives on the world and human by
studying Nietzsche who affirmed arts as a possibility for life where the common
ground among us had been lost as well as Lyotard and Rancière who had
contrasting views on the matters that are incapable of representation.
